Brentwood West (map) is a town centre ward and it has the highest population of any ward in the borough – 5,269 voters are currently registered to vote at c. 4700.
A major claim to fame for Brentwood West ward is that it is “The Birthplace of BBC’s The Apprentice” and the home of many TOWIE stars.
Remember the first 3 series of The Apprentice when you got a panoramic view of Tower Bridge and then landed in Sir Alan Sugar’s office? Sir Alan did the “You’re Fired” bit in his office in Kings Road…now a Premier Inn Hotel! If you watch a re-run, note that the office with the London Taxi outside is called Brentwood House – there’s your clue!
In recent years Brentwood has seen something of a resurgence thanks to ITV’s “The Only Way is Essex”. Characters Mario Falcone and Amy Childs both live in Brentwood West!
Away from boardroom and #TOWIE antics, it is a varied ward with a variety of properties ranging from Victorian terraces around the station area, to the modern tower blocks of Masefield Court and Drake House to the family homes in the homesteads and town houses in Clements Park.
It is landlocked between the wards of Brentwood North, Warley, Brentwood South and South Weald, covering a wide area from Junction Road in Warley down Warley Hill into Kings Road and into Weald Road to just beyond Honeypot Lane, including most of the Homesteads, down Kavanaghs Road and Crescent Road and including most of Clements Park.
