In #brentwoodwest, news has just been received that the application for more flats and a convenience store in St James Road, adjoining Brunel House, is recommended for approval by Tory-run Brentwood Council. This will now go to the Planning Committee on Tuesday 13th March 2012 at 7pm for a decision. This meeting is open to the public and I would urge residents to attend the Town Hall in Ingrave Road if you can to show your feelings. I hope to be there to support you.
Residents have asked questions about parking (the report concedes the provision is inadequate and the current parking problems speak for themselves), deliveries for the food store, the traffic lights due to be introduced in St James Road, parking for the retail area, more people residing in an already over-crowded area and the lack of play provision in the area.
In addition, there have been long-held concerns about emergency access in Rollason Way and I have been informed that a visit by the fire service recently backed this up as they struggled to access the road.
Please get in touch if you would like further information.
