Library consultation

by Cllr Karen Chilvers on February 17, 2011

So, a consultation into the future of Essex libraries has begun. The current opening hours are:

Monday-Friday: 9.00 – 7.00
Saturday: 9.00 – 5.00
Sunday: 1.00 – 4.00

These are the two options that form part of the consultation:

Option A
Mon: 9am – 7pm
Tue: 9am – 7pm
Wed: Closed
Thu: 9am – 7pm
Fri: 9am – 7pm
Sat: 9am – 5pm
Sun: Closed

Option B
Mon-Sat: 9am – 5pm
Sun: Closed

That seems to be something of a loaded question to me…and those are your ONLY choices (apart from “C – no preference”). So what if you can only visit the Library on a Sunday? If anyone fancies borrowing a book this Sunday afternoon I may well bump into you!

Please do have your say on the consultation and, if you want to keep the library open on a Sunday, please make your views known.
